Favorite Films
It's so hard to rate films. Not just films but any media I
consume. So these aren't really ranked by numbers.
ALL of them are close to my heart.
PS: Eric Rohmer's films are bit closer than the rest, I think.

My Personal Film Database
| Favorite Films | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rating | Film | Year | Director | Notes |
| 9/10 | Jules and Jim | 1962 | François Truffaut | This film wounded me badly. maybe the one of the early M.P.D.G stories out there. New wave and femme fatales are almost synonymous to me but this one, hits differently. I love what hurts me the most, and maybe thats why It's one of my favorites. |
| A Summer's Tale | 1996 | Eric Rohmer | Rohmer sees right through me. I've always felt guilty for seeing myself in what is probably one of the most self-decieving, delutional indecisive man-child ever put before camera. | |
| 8.7/10 | Tampopo | 1985 | Juzo Itami | Ever though you'd see a movie where the genre is "Ramen Western"? Absolutely fabulous. |
| 8.3/10 | School of Rock | 2003 | Richard Linklater | JACK BLACK MY GOAT |
| 9.2/10 | Joyland | 2022 | Saim Sadiq | I've never seen such a beautifully layered film. God I love this so much i'll rewatch it again and weep. |
| 8.8/10 | Linda Linda Linda | 2005 | Nobuhiro Yamashita | Do you wanna watch a film with me? I'd choose this one. Sometimes I wish I could call back everyone I've lost along the way, sit beside them one last time and spend an evening laughing and crying over this stupidly brilliant film TOGETHER. |
